The Lake

Secord Lake is the upper most lake in a series of four lakes on the Tittabawassee River. The Secord Dam creates the Secord Dam backwaters consisting of a main body of water and 3 branches of the Tittabawassee River. Combined, this provides almost 13 miles of lake for boating, fishing and water sports. The shoreline is wooded with houses on a majority of the river with exception to a section which is undeveloped and owned by the State of Michigan.

The water depth varies depending on location, providing several sand bars ideal for swimming while the main channels are on average 30 ft deep. There are 4 boat ramps available to the public which can accommodate most recreational watercraft - 2 of which are maintained by the DNR and have parking available. All types of motorized watercraft are allowed and there are no time restrictions or curfews.

Water sports are allowed anywhere with exception to some of the smaller channels which are no-wake or too narrow. During the week, the lake is relaxing and serene and provides a perfect environment for fishing and waterskiing. The activity level picks up substantially on the weekends and water conditions are more suited towards tubing, wakeboarding and jet skiing.
